Richard J. Anastasia, CPA

Rick has been with Lutz, Selig & Zeronda, CPAs, L.L.P. and its predecessor firm since 1983, when he began his professional career in accounting. For the last five years, Rick has been managing the firm’s Amsterdam office. In addition to his concentrations in the transportation and dental industries, Rick provides clients with a wide array of accounting and tax services, including tax planning, preparing and overseeing audits and cost justification reporting, financial statement preparation, business transition planning, budgeting analysis and consulting.

As a seasoned accountant, Rick understands that, no matter the size, every business has needs–but that each one needs something different. This mindset has allowed him to successfully establish numerous start-up companies and conduct acquisitions with accounting systems, financing and general business practices.  Rick has also helped clients become certified in the NYS Empire Zone Program, allowing them to take advantage of substantial tax credits, real estate assessment reductions and sales tax savings. On top of his client duties, he has published numerous tax and accounting related articles, manages the firm’s newsletter content, has given seminars on small business start-ups and current tax developments, and is a recurring presenter at the NYS School Bus Contractors Association Annual Conference.

Rick decided to pursue a career in accounting due to his love of math and his desire to help people solve business problems. He has made it his professional mission to treat each client as if they were his only one, paying attention to every detail and solving every problem.

Rick lives in Perth, New York, where he enjoys golfing, walking and cooking in his free time.
